Grew up in the streets where the pavement’s hot,
Learned early that life ain’t always smooth,
Dreams that are born deep in the heart,
But reality pulls you down, gets you in the groove.
The grind is daily, no one gives you a guide,
Through the stumbles, you straighten your stride,
The curves of life, a long winding ride,
Where victory sometimes wears defeat as a disguise.
You look back, see the time pass by,
So many battles, but nothing can deny,
Life is a fight, no way to avoid,
But in the end, you choose where you wanna rise.
