God’s favor rests on the lowly in spirit,
Heaven belongs to hearts that know their need.

Those who carry sorrow won’t stay empty,
They will be held and given peace.

The quiet and gentle will be lifted,
And one day they’ll inherit the earth.

Those who long for truth and righteousness
Will be satisfied in their thirst.

Kindness shown will come back in mercy,
Grace will meet the merciful soul.

Clean hearts will behold His presence,
Seeing God will be their reward.

Those who bring peace will be called His children,
Marked by the love they carry within.

And those who suffer for doing what’s right
Will find the kingdom already theirs.
