Um Dendê

Brazilian funk-pop with swung dembow bounce, playful syncopation and bright handclaps; verse rides a sparse bass and percussive shakers, pre-chorus strips to voice and crowd snaps, chorus hits with a rubbery synth bass, chopped vocal stabs and call-and-response gang chants. Lead vocal is close-mic and teasing with doubled hook lines, little ad-libs thrown left and right. Ear candy: short risers into the chorus, reverse claps between phrases, tiny whistle pops on the hook. Mix is bright, punchy, and candy-coated.
