What about real life?

My alarm rings, I go to school again,
Sit in class with paper and a pen,
We learn many things every day,
But I don’t know when I’ll use them one day.
Dates and numbers fill my head,
Sometimes I wish I stayed in bed,
We study hard just for a test,
But I don’t know how this helps me best.

Why don’t they teach us about real life?
About money, work, and daily life?
We learn things we forget so fast,
Only studying so we can pass.
Teach us things we really need,
Not just things we have to read.
If school should help us find our way,
Why teach things we forget one day?

The bell rings and we change the class,
Another lesson starts to pass,
We write and read the whole day long,
Sometimes it feels a little wrong.
We learn a lot but not about bills,
Or about jobs and useful skills,
I think school could teach much more,
Things that help us in the future for sure.
