Little Lost Poppy

When Toyah woke up in her bed and looked around,
Her best friend Poppy was nowhere to be found!
She may be just a bunny, soft and small,
But Poppy's her friend, the best friend of all!

Oh, where could Poppy be?
She’s not in the toy chest or under the tree,
Toyah searched high, Toyah searched low,
But where Poppy is, she just doesn’t know!

Toyah jumped up, quick out of bed,
Feeling a little worried, full of dread.
She peeked in the toy chest, toys piled so high,
And checked under her bed, gave each corner a try.

Oh, where could Poppy be?
She’s not with the dollies or fairy wings, you see!
Toyah looked here, Toyah looked there,
But Poppy the bunny just wasn’t there!

Downstairs she ran to find her mum,
“Have you seen my bunny? Where could she’ve gone?”
Mum gave a smile, “Let’s search together,
For I know Poppy makes things better!”

They looked in the cupboard, they looked on the chair,
Turned the house upside down, they looked everywhere!
Toyah felt sad, her face full of worry,
But Mum and Dad joined in the hurry!

Then Dad came home and opened the door,
He saw Toyah’s face, so sad and unsure.
He said, “Let’s go to the toy store down the street,
Maybe a new friend is waiting to meet!”

But just as they drove to the end of the lane,
Toyah saw long ears in the car again!
“It’s Poppy!” she cried, with a laugh and a cheer,
Her friend was right there, so close and near!

Now Toyah holds Poppy close and tight,
They’re together again, all day and all night.
With a big happy smile, she cuddles her friend,
For Toyah and Poppy, it’s joy to the end!
