Milo part two

Verse 1
Milo was a quiet Ragdoll, sleeping more each day,
Slower on his hind limbs, drifting farther from play.
Then came the sudden change that no one could ignore,
Open-mouth breathing, coughing, and pacing on the floor.
Verse 2
The stethoscope found crackles where healthy lungs should be,
A murmur in the chest, a heart working urgently.
Jugular veins distended, pulses weak and thin,
Hypothermia and bradycardia showed the battle from within.
Verse 3
Inside the ventricles, the muscle walls had grown,
Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy had changed the heart he'd known.
A ventricle meant to relax had become stiff and tight,
Making every heartbeat work harder day and night.
Verse 4
Within the enlarged atrium, blood flow had slowed,
Creating the conditions where a dangerous clot could grow.
Then it traveled through the aorta and blocked the blood flow there,
Bringing sudden hind-limb pain and a need for urgent care.

Weak femoral pulses, cyanotic mucous membranes too,
Every finding painted a picture the veterinary team knew.
The CBC and examination helped connect each piece,
As they worked to restore comfort and bring Milo some relief.

His heart may beat differently, his journey may be tough,
Yet every purr and every head bump says he's strong enough.
