Near the end, I curse you, life

because I could never find the way

and in love I was always a sad pilgrim

who embarked on a hope that failed.

The body is silent, but the soul does not forget

how wretched fate can be,

cursed life that breeds meanness

even in the grave where the suicide lies.

In white gardens I planted my roses

which I watered daily with honey,

but they died like all other things.
