II had only one love, my very first and true,
I gave it all to you, along with a letter.
You did not take it, and so my love was through

The letter thin, like dreams that drift and fade,
The love so sad, like every parting sigh.
I folded it, kept close inside my coat for days,

Clouds drifted, dimming mountains far away.
