What can the
vocal remover separate?

The vocal remover and stem splitter give you three ways to separate audio. Start with the result you need: a backing track, one instrument, or individual parts for a new mix.

Keep the voice.
Keep the backing track.

Use the vocal remover when you need the singer and the accompaniment in separate files. Listen closely to the vocal phrasing, or use the instrumental for rehearsal and karaoke.

You get both parts in one request. The vocal remover separates the recording you provide, so each track comes from your original performance.

Pick out the part
you keep coming back to.

That bass line. The guitar hook. A drum pattern you want to learn. Choose one supported part in the stem splitter to hear it on its own, clear of the rest of the arrangement.

One target stem returns the isolated part and a version with that part removed, just as the vocal remover does for the voice. Study the original performance, then play your own part over the remaining music.

Choose full separation when you want several parts for remixing, sampling or closer listening. The stem splitter returns every supported stem that contains audio, so your results stay easy to scan.

Preview each part in Tool Results, then download the files you need for your audio editor. The vocal remover gives you the material; the next creative decision is yours.

Vocal remover
questions, answered.

What to expect before you separate your first song with the vocal remover.

Start with a good recording.

The vocal remover works with what is already in the mix. Clean, well-balanced recordings give the clearest separation. Listen to each stem before you use it in a finished project.

What is a vocal remover?

A vocal remover separates the singing in a mixed recording from the music behind it. A stem splitter goes further and separates parts such as drums, bass or guitar. Those parts are called stems, and you can play or download each one.

How is a vocal remover different from a stem splitter?

A vocal remover gives you two tracks: vocals and instrumental. A stem splitter gives you one chosen instrument or every supported part. This vocal remover page includes both, so you can choose the output that fits your task.

Can I use the vocal remover with my own song?

Yes. Upload an audio file up to 20 MB, or choose a completed song version from My Music. The vocal remover uses your upload for this separation task only. Process audio you have permission to use.

Can I isolate just the drums, bass or guitar?

Yes. Select One target stem and choose a supported part. The stem splitter returns that part on its own and a version of the song without it. Common choices appear first; search the selector for the other supported instruments.

How many stems will I get?

Full separation in the vocal remover returns every supported track that contains sound in your recording. A stripped-back acoustic song returns fewer stems than a layered electronic production, so each result matches its source.

What happens to my original song?

Your original recording and the version in My Music stay as they are. The vocal remover saves the separated tracks as new files, so you can always return to the source.

How many credits does the vocal remover use?

Vocals and instrumental use 3 credits on the Basic plan. One target stem uses 5 credits and all available stems use 13 credits, both on the Growth plan. The examples on this page play right here.

Where are my vocal remover results saved?

Completed tracks are saved in Tool Results. Preview your vocal remover results there, then download the files you need. Downloads use your account’s download allowance; the examples on this page are for listening.

Can I leave the page while the vocal remover works?

Yes. Once your request is accepted, the vocal remover keeps working if you refresh or leave. A notification on the site links to the completed results, and Tool Results always shows the task.

Can I use the stems in a remix or video?

Yes. You can work with the files from the vocal remover in your own audio or video editor. Use recordings you own or have permission to use, and make sure your intended use is covered.
