I wake up with a thousand tails around me
paws on the bed saying “hey, good morning”
laughter spills with ginger in my cup
this prairie house knows me too well, yup
The river moves slow, watching me go
takes all the weight, lets my dreaming grow
between broken nights and stitched-up plans
I learned how to fall… and laugh again

bright colors, a wild heart
big dreams, a few illusions
but I live real, right from the start

There’s a little van running next to me
“I love pet therapy” painted free
inside there’s
paws and hearts and toys everywhere
and a reason to care
I trusted words that were light as air
some melted fast, they weren’t really there
posters of letdowns on my wall
but dogs taught me tomorrow won’t fall

When the world says “no, you won’t survive”
I bark back loud and say “watch me try”
