Text
They said “you can’t,” I said “I will,”
I climbed the mountain, I feel it still.
They made me cry, they made me fall,
But I got stronger through it all.
They laughed at me, they closed the door,
But I came back, I wanted more.
No one believed, but I still tried,
I held my dream, I never lied.
They told me “stop,” I said “not yet,”
I have a goal I won’t forget.
I dance in pain, I sing in rain,
I turn my tears into my gain.
They broke my heart, but not my flame,
One day the world will know my name.
I fall, I rise, I fight, I run,
I shine like stars, I’m not done.
So here I am — I’m still the same,
But now I’m strong, I’m in the game.
This is my voice, this is my time,
I speak my truth, I write my rhyme.
