Cold Dissonance

Experimental cinematic chamber music, cold and slow opening with widely spaced low piano notes and bowed bass harmonics, brittle prepared-piano ticks, muted brass breaths, and thin high strings. Gradually layer uneven ostinatos and clipped percussive impacts; let the pulse become increasingly asymmetrical and tense without turning triumphant. Near the end, briefly swell into dense dissonant strings and low brass, then cut to a stark unresolved chord. Intimate close-miked textures against a deep, controlled room, dynamic shifts, intricate counterpoint, restrained and unsettling, instrumental score.
