Balkan War: The First

Ottoman: "They rise against me, one by one,
But I have stood under this sun.
Serbia's first, they fight for might,
But my empire’s grip won’t loosen tonight!"
Ottoman:
"Bulgaria chants, 'Adrianople's mine!'
But my defenses hold the line.
I may be weary, I may seem weak,
But the fall of empires isn’t so bleak."
Ottoman:
"Montenegro, tiny but bold,
With fierce little punches, they strike for gold.
Yet I remain, weathered and strong,
Even if they all sing their victory song."
Ottoman:
"Greece is next, claiming the land,
But my roots are deep, like the finest sand.
You may think you’ve crushed my heart,
But I won’t let you tear me apart!"
Ottoman:
"Russia grins, from a distance wide,
Thinking it can wound my pride.
Austria warns, Albania’s fate,
But none can dictate my empire’s state."
Ottoman (growing fainter):
"Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece unite,
Together they push, they fight the fight.
The Balkan’s free, my time is done,
But remember well, I’ve lost — not run."
