Silent Prayers

In the darkness, no one by my side
Whispered every broken piece of my soul
But the silence filled the empty whole
I reached out, hoping you'd pull me in
But all I found was the weight within
Fading echoes, no one there to hold
Just a shadow growing cold
I was praying, calling out your name
But my cries just vanished like the rain
I begged and pleaded, down on the floor

I’ve counted stars, traced each line
Looking for answers, a single sign
But faith slipped like sand from my hands
