Chéri Chéri

Verse 1
Neon lights are shining bright,
Dancing in the city night,
I was holding on to dreams of you and I.
You said forever, then you ran,
Played my heart like no one can,
But I still feel your kiss, I wonder why.

Pre-Chorus
Love was magic in the moonlight,
Now I’m waiting for the sunrise.
Tell me, baby, was it real or just a line?

Chorus
Chéri, Chéri — don’t you lie,
Don’t say you love me then goodbye.
You broke my heart but I still try,
Oh Chéri, Chéri — don’t you lie.
I hear your voice inside my mind,
Chéri, Chéri — don’t you lie.

Verse 2
Silver shadows on the floor,
I can’t chase you anymore,
But your heartbeat keeps on calling from afar.
You were rhythm, you were fire,
You were all that I desired,
Now I’m singing to the emptiness of stars.

Pre-Chorus
Love was magic in the moonlight,
Now I’m waiting for the sunrise.
Tell me, baby, was it fate or just a smile?

Chorus
Chéri, Chéri — don’t you lie,
Don’t say you need me, then deny.
You stole my heart, you made me cry,
Oh Chéri, Chéri — don’t you lie.
Your love was just a lullaby,
Chéri, Chéri — don’t you lie.

Bridge
Synths are calling,
Night is falling,
Still I want you back again.
Heart is beating,
You’re repeating,
Promises that never end.

Final Chorus
Chéri, Chéri — don’t you lie,
I see the truth inside your eyes.
You broke me once but I’ll survive,
Oh Chéri, Chéri — don’t you lie.
I’ll spread my wings, I’ll learn to fly,
Chéri, Chéri — this is goodbye.
