50th PNG Independence

Fifty years of freedom, our flag waves high,
Red, black, and gold beneath the southern sky.
From the coast to the mountains, the islands to the sea,
Papua New Guinea, forever we’ll be free.

Oh PNG, land of the brave,
With 22 provinces, one heart we gave.
Eight hundred tongues, yet one strong voice,
United in culture, we sing and rejoice.

Central and Gulf, Milne Bay’s shore,
Oro rising proud, Highlands roar.
Hela, Enga, Western Highlands too,
Jiwaka, Simbu, Eastern Highlands true.

Morobe sings, Madang stands tall,
East Sepik dances, West Sepik calls.
Manus island, New Ireland shines,
East and West New Britain, rhythms entwine.

Bougainville strong, Western winds blow,
NCD, our capital, where bright lights glow.
From valleys to oceans, we lift our song,
Fifty years together, where we all belong.
