Uncle Si, a wealthy Laotian farmer, was known far and wide as a rural tycoon. The villagers called him a 'wealthy agriculturalist.' He was indifferent to temples, religion, politics, and social gatherings. His large mansion, towering buildings, and abundant gold were the envy of many. When people saw him, they often wondered if he might lend them money.
