Midnight Grain

Dark cinematic downtempo, very slow half-time drums with long gaps and restrained, heavy sub-bass pulses; sparse minor-key piano fragments, distant tremolo guitar, muted brushed percussion and low room-tone ambience. Build gradually from a nearly empty opening into a weighty, spacious central groove, then strip back to a lingering unresolved ending. Intimate, nocturnal, mysterious small-town noir atmosphere; organic grain, close low end, wide restrained ambience, no busy melodic lead.
