When I was a little boy, the world was still wonderful. No touch of death and loss, but I had to learn, nothing lasts forever. Only six months after the call, my suffering and sorrow began. I couldn’t understand back then that I wasn’t to blame, I didn’t know how it felt when a part of my being ascends to heaven.
Two decades you have been away from me now, yet still so close. You watch over me when I laugh, cry, or can’t control my emotions. Far from life and still so present in my heart and mind. Connected forever by our blood and our shared time. I fucking miss you every day since you are no longer here.
Like every year, I visit your gravestone to draw new strength and hope. I hope you still look down on me proudly and have that smile on your lips like back when the world was still whole for me. One day we will see each other again. But until then, you live on in my heart and guide me as an inner voice through my storms.
