Yesterday, like the eastern stream,
Far from me, like a distant dream.
Today my heart, troubled and distressed,
Cutting water, still flows at best.
Raise a glass to drown my sorrow,
But more sorrow comes tomorrow.
Morning breeze, drifting so free,
New faces smile, who cries for me?

Love, two words, so hard and cruel,
Seek the truth or play the fool?
Know too much, or know too small,
Never content, that's the call.
Mandarin ducks, butterflies fly,
In wrong times, who can deny?
World of flowers, ducks, and butterflies,
Mortal world, madness in disguise.
